Iv flush

I've never done a midline iv. Patient had leftover blood in capped midline iv in arm. Protocol would be to just flush it right? I'm super paranoid if I did the right thing or not!

As Wuzzie and Rose Queen informed you in your previous post, you really need to contact your mother's home health/infusion provider.

The protocol is to not solicit advice in an online forum regarding your mother's care. The protocol is to contact the provider and NOT force things. Not force of extension tubing losing parts in the process. Not to do procedures where you don't have the skill or training. And not spamming forums. Rewording doesn't change that you are soliciting medical advice online.

You have now spent two days attempting to solicit medical advice (with the last two posts being quite deceptive to the point of mentioning an instructor). You would have been much better served taking that time to contact your mother's health care team and asking them these questions. Have you called them? If not, why not? You will not get the answers you seek here.

I share the account with my sister who is a new nursing student and she did not realize I had already posted it and had the same idea I did. I called them and they are coming out tomorrow.

Good. Shared accounts are not within the site ToS either. Redirect to those qualified to assess and advise

Along with what JustBeachy said about the shared account, it's still deceptive to mention instructor as though the situation was not a personal relative.
