IV Certification

I just got accepted to start the LPN program in August. I live in Florida and I was just wondering about the IV certification. Is there a waiting period between becoming an LPN and getting certified? Do you have to wait before you can get certified? Also, as a CNA I got EKG certified and I got a very small pay raise. As an LPN would I get a pay raise if I got re-certified?

Thank you!!!!

In Florida you have to be post graduate LPN in order to take a IV Certification class. They are kinda difficult to find here.

In CA, you can take IV/BW certification after completion of an LVN program and even before boards are taken, but the issuing institution can not send off the IV/BW cert papers to the BVNPT until a valid license is presented.

Hi I was wondering if LPN to RN was the right route to take? I really enjoy helping people I have about 3 months to decide if I want to take up the LPN program someone please tell me if it is the right career path.

Thanks!!!!

Hello i'm new to this website please explain to me what the IV Certified is?

@Successful..it means that you are able to start an IV, admin Piggyback Meds, and Monitor them. It's an expanded role with your LPN license. We are not able to do IV push, chemo, and several others things. The role should be better explained with your board of nursing's nurse act provisions...I hope that this helps!

I just finished my LPN and I am bridging to my BSN/RN right now. I think that I made the right decision as I am able to work while working on my RN. It's a personal choice.
