When I pull fluid (like propfol) from the port above the pump where is the fluid coming from? The bag or does some come from the tubing below?

From above. You should see a steady flow from your bag/bottle in the drip chamber if pulling above the pump.

Wait but what do you mean by bolus? Are you pulling fluid out of the line into a syringe to then push it by hand into the patient as a bolus?
