ITT Tech - Canton

U.S.A. Michigan

Hello,

Has anyone heard this school offering a new RN program?

I checked the Board of Nursing and it is listed as an approved program for Licensure, but not listed with NLN, probly not accrediated as a new program.

Today is the first day I've heard of this program and I checked their web site and it doesn't have a ton of info on it. I am thinking of signing up for one of the admission seminars to find out more about it.

My main hesitation at this point is wondering if the degree will be respected by employers since ITT is traditionally a "technical" school not a health care school.

I attend in Missouri..What you wanna know??? I wouldn't worry about employers on that note. I work in BJC hospital, and they will accept my RN degree once I pass NCLEX-RN. And BJC is a major healthcare organization. The cost of the program is high though no lie. But if you have credits from other colleges they will transfer in and lower your overall cost of the program. There is alot of papers and assignments which is expected because the instructors want you to think like a nurse and be able to handle the work load because the workforce isn't easy lol. There is no waiting list either, you just have to past the HESI test with a 70 percent or better, and be within the top 20 because our school only selected 20 students. Umm..our nursing NU100 class was held on every monday for 11 weeks and I had to take this other GEN ED course which is super easy. The instructors are top notch in my opinion because Itt-Tech is trying to build a reputation and there are so many people out there who will feed you B.S. and hate on your dream goals. Lastly, I would suggest getting signed up for a seminar to see if you like it and then go from there.

I agree with LewisPCT!!!! Great program- people need to give the school a chance. No one has graduated from the program as of Yet so the numbers are not known. The passing rate of the NClex will tell it all!!!

I have made some phone calls to itt tech in canton and was told that they would contact me in regard to the nursing program for the fall 2012 semester, is this true? I have probably called 3 times to make sure i don't miss out on a seminar or admission process. Does anyone have any info on this program?

I went in and spoke to the admissions counselor face to face. I was told that she would call me if I was still interested in the program for the oreinatation and everything. But, for me to be aware that there was 1000 people on the list that needed to be called before me. That was a month ago and I have yet to be contacted by her.

I spoke with someone from the school (Canton, MI) and she said they won't be accepting any new students until 2013 and beyond..

Wow they wont accept anyone until 2013 or later.

I called ITT Canton also and she stated that they have a waitlist for the March 2013 class.
