Is TVI's nursing program respected?

Published

Hey All!

My husband and I are thinking about moving to New Mexico, Albuquerque area. I need to know...is TVI's nursing program respected in the area? I went to an orientation there and liked what I saw, but it would be good to know from people in the area.

Thanks! Abby

Hi Abby! I moved to Houston 3 yrs ago after living in Alb for 21 yrs....altho' I did not attend TVI a friend of mine did and she is now head of Hospice at Presbyterian Hosp. She worked hard as a AD grad and has done very well for herself. TVI has an excellent program for AD's....go for it girl! And enjoy the green chili while you're there...bty Garduno's has the best New Mexican cuisine...Enjoy!!:) :)

Thanks for your help, Mel! I appreciate it.

Your welcome! Please let me know if you all move there....I miss my green chili, my sis and ma and pa....whine sniff...:crying2:

BTW

TVI's program was free when I lived in Turkey town, and may still be free. But as such, it takes forever to get in. I had a confirmed seat, and finished my bachelors before i would have finished my ADN from TVI.

Good luck

I graduated from there in 1998; I did get into the nursing college when I wanted to but I had done my prerequisites there. I was a registered starter at TVI of over 10 years previous to my getting into nursing school (I took some classes way back when that I could not remember). So, for me it was successful.

I would encourage you to attend TVI because it was an excellent school and program. I then went on to complete my schooling with the RN to BSN program at UNM. Believe me, no one will hold your hand there and encourage you attend TVI; they weed out the weary and undedicated by the orientation seminars that are held regularly.

I say, go for the brass ring! Let us know how we can help.

night

Good evening,

I'm a TVI grad....started there anyway, and it is by far the best nursing program in the state. Although, they cram 4yrs of nursing school into 2yrs, and someone with no short term memory (too many drugs as a kid), it was a bit difficult. I give it thumbs up.
