I am starting to question whether or not nursing is really for me. I know for sure I want to do something in the medical field but I'm not sure if its really nursing. Also I can't really think of anything else I want to do besides something like nurse. Has anyone else every question whether or not nursing is really for them (especially if your a nurse now or in nursing school)???

You're really the only one that can answer this. What part(s) of nursing interest you?
I'm not in nursing school yet, but I question if nursing is for me sometimes. I won't know until I try though, so I keep at it.
I know I am the only one but I was just wondering about if others had these thoughts. What makes me want to be a nurse is that I like to help people and I like the feeling I get after helping people among other things.

There's lots of other things in healthcare you can do -- have you shadowed a nurse to see what they do and if it's a good fit for you? If you aren't in school already, that's what I would suggest. There's also respiratory therapists, medical assistants, sonographers, X-ray technician, cardiovascular technologist, phlebotomists, EMTs, paramedics, etc... you have lots of options.
I wanted to shadow a nurse but my local hospitals does that type of thing. I know about most the other medical careers but hardly any of them peaks my interest besides EMTs and paramedics.
See if one of your local nursing programs can set up a shadow experience for you -- it might be easier to that than working with the hospital directly.

It's totally Normal to doubt yourself, going to school and starting a career is a major thing. Most people get these feelings when starting in any profession.
Personally I think it's better to try it out, rather than shadowing a nurse. I think it would of put me off nursing.
I'm graduating in November with a BSN, and for the first half on my degree I would doubt myself. It wasn't till I finished my surgical placement that I knew I was 100% sure nursing was the right career choice for me. You only know if it's for you once you try it. But give yourself time to really decide whether or not nursing is for you, I've had placements I've hated and that's ok. You won't like every area of nursing, but that doesn't mean nursing isn't for you.
Give it a go, find out what area your interested in. Good luck!

Yes, I am wondering this myself! I just graduated (or will in a couple months) with a bachelor's degree and I plan to apply to an accelerated program. I have volunteered in a number of units and had a number of roles at a pediatric teaching hospital. I have decided that my goal is to become a pediatric nurse (it was the most inspiring amazing place I have ever worked). I have so much interest in medicine (I voluntarily take pathology courses even though they didn't count for degree credit and voluntarily read up on various diseases and conditions). But then again, is this really the right route for me? It's hard for anyone to really KNOW prior to entering nursing because you can't really "test out" nursing. Most hospitals do not do shadowing due to confidentiality issues and even if you do get a chance to shadow, it's still not enough to really know if you will love it. I am also really stuck. I have done the research side of things (5 research projects) and I love it and would continue with research for my entire career, but I don't think I want to ONLY do research all day every day. I know lots of nurses do also pursue research. So I think nursing is a good choice for me, but like I am really confused. :/
