I decided to enroll in nursing school because 1)only two semesters, 2)pays good and lots of jobs out there 3)I think I have qualities that would make me a good nurse (organized, empathetic, hard worker)
But....
I am not assertive or a take-charge person. I don't know how I would do in emergency situations - I'm usally the kind of person that has to analyze things before taking action. I'm afraid that patients would see through my insecurity and demand for another nurse!
Also, I'm a stay at home mom with small children and planning on having more. So I need a career that I could work part time - and not bring work concerns home with me.
I've been looking into the Dietetic Tech programs - a job that focuses on one thing (nutrition), I still get to work with/help people, and it doesn't sound like a stressful job.
Anyone have any advice on why I should or shouldn't go through with nursing school? By the way, I'm just finishing my 1st semester, so I already have a lot invested in it.
Thanks!
