Can anyone answer a couple questions for me? I'm wondering if a school will accept me at 56 years old....
Also, I'm wondering if I have too much ICU experience. I have 23 years in ICU.
Do you think it's too late for me?
I am planning on applying to Kaiser Fullerton in November 2012; and maybe Loma Linda (in process of getting accreditation).
Haven't seen any posts on this subject...
Thank you for your comments....

I work with a man who has been an ICU nurse for about the same about of time as you and is in his late 40's early 50's (I am guessing).....and he just got into anesthesia school and is starting next year. It's never to late! If it's what you want, go for it. If you want this and don't try then you will never know what could have been and might always regret it. Good luck!

Good luck and follow your dream!
In Nursing school we had a student who was 57 years old and on
weekends commuted to home from Boston to Martha's Vineyard (including
waiting for the ferry boat). She attained the highest gpa and clinical score.
She was quite a role model.

Go for it jla11! It takes two years but your dream can come true. It's never too late. My ADN study buddy was 55 years old when he got into the nursing program. Your experience as a ICU nurse will certainly help you out!
Hi Gwapo,
Where is Keck School of Med? I can't apply to S.M. My husband will be supporting me and we live in So. Cal. Did you know Loma Linda will be opening a program? They are working on getting accredited as we speak. Their next step with that is Jan '11, and are planning on their 1st quarter being Fall '11. I don't know how to PM anybody. I'm new to this site. Can you help me with that? I'd love to keep in touch. I think we will need all the support that we can get. Thank you for the encouragement. I will be submitted my app in Nov '12. If I get in I'll be starting in Mar '13. Does that sound about right for you?
