Is CPR/AED required for application to MCCD?

Published

Do we have to get the CPR/AED certification done before applying to the MCCD nursing program? I thought I had heard it was required but I don't see it anywhere in the application.

yes it is required that you have ur healthcare provider card (cpr/aed)...and i did notice that it wasnt on the application but if you intend to apply, get ur healthcare provider card because you will need it...it might not be on the app but it is required

Do you know if it's required for the application or to start the program? I ask because I know that the certification is only good for a year so I'm going to hold off on taking it if it's only required to start and not for the application because I'm still working on pre-reqs.

Oh, nevermind. I saw a post where it was actually required for application, so I signed up to take it through the Red Cross next month. Thanks for your help!

HJS27, you don't post that often, but when you do your posts are exceptionally insightful and useful. Thank you for being a contributing member.

I successfully applied to Gateway and am not CPR certified. I am just awaiting placement, but I assume I will need this when I start the program so I'd better get crackin.
