You know Rockland to NYC transportation better than anyone here. Are you on a bus line? Train? Get hold of the schedules.

I commute from NJ, and the trains were always pretty reliable, rain or shine. I drive now, since it saves me about an hour of travel time. The traffic at the GWB can be insane, but at the times we nurses show up for work, it's not too bad. It does depend on where you want to work in Manhattan. I work at NYP/Columbia, which is one turn off the GWB. If you want to work further downtown, public transportation may make more sense for you.....

Specializes in SICU, MICU, CICU, NeuroICU.

If you can take the train do that. There's really no traffic on the trains so that'd probably be your best option. I would advise against driving into the city. There's always traffic, and the parking is way too expensive, which would make it silly. Public transportation is the way to go.

I work with a lot of nurses who commute in from Rockland at NYP Columbia. It's a pretty straight shot into upper Manhattan from Rockland.
