Interviewing a nurse for school

Hi my name is Rebecca and I am taking college introductory classes. I have been assigned an assignment to interview someone who working in the field I am pursuing. If you could give me your name and where you work as well please. Feel free to include any other information you feel is important or even personal stories. The interview questions are:

1. What do you like best about your job?

2. What degrees and licensures (endorsements) have you earned?

3. How long have you been nursing?

4. What methods do you use to communicate with the patients?

5. What forms of assessment do you use in your office?

6. What types of strategies do you use when handing difficult patients?

7. How do you integrate technology into your nursing?

8. What is your philosophy of healthcare?

9. What advice can you give me as a future nurse?

10. What do you find is the most challenging aspect of nursing?

    I am only going to answer number 9, and that is because the purpose of this type of assignment is to get out there and talk to people you can verify are nurses- that's impossible to do on an anonymous website.

    So, it is never too early to start networking. As a new grad, you are going to be on the same level as every new grad out there. You'll need to be able to set yourself apart from the crowd. Get out there and start meeting nurses face to face. Join nursing associations- many have a reduced student rate. Conduct this interview in person- you never know if that person might just be able to help you with finding a job in the future. It often isn't what you know but rather who you know that can help with getting that first nursing job.
