interview next monday

hi everyone!!,

so i am new to this site and i have an interview coming up next monday for my local high school, school nurse position. i am freaking out because this is literally my dream job. i have only been an RN for 3 years and only have my diploma (RN). i will be starting my BSN journey spring of 2020. i just need some tips and some things that are essential to know for school nursing because i know im going to be going against nurses with their BSN and i just want to really impress them. TIA!!!

Your ability to fit in with the existing team will win over an individual with a higher education. No drama, no sticky wheels, no high demands, someone who will be able to handle demanding parents, and prove sound clinical judgement. Best of luck!

Three years is a great amount of experience. Please search this page (put in words like "special education" and "new school nurse" in the search bar - we're a wealth of info.)

Here's one thing I tell everyone: Ask the admin what they view as your primary role. Are you to keep kids IN school or let them go home? It matters because if an admin is going to cave to a parent's wishes, then there's no point in you keeping sweet baby and her invisible owie in school. Best of luck!
