So I just had an interview for a SNF. I am not sure if it went well or just awful. You be the judge.
Interview was at 11. I got there at 11, filled out an application and waited an hour. The person who was interviewing me was doing something with a resident and then there was someone who interviewed before me. So it was 12 by the time I actually was interviewed. I did not have a problem waiting. Interviews are so hard to come by these days.
So we talked a little bit about where I currently work. I informed her have been there a year and still work on-call. There is not much turn over. I had been waiting for an opening. When an opening came along the position was offered to another nurse who had been there longer. So I polietly informed her that it was time to move on, I really want something more steady and basically just want to work.
She talked about how all the staff gets along for the most part. They like to joke around and rely on each other in times of stress. Sort of rely on each other to vent about stuff. She laughed and talked some more. I had a few questions (its your basic SNF, so I didn't have many questions about what to expect, I work in LTC already). She laughed some more and continued on about a few random things. Then gave me a tour. I had a few more questions.
After the tour I asked when she thought she would make a decision. She stated in the next few days. I told her great, I look forward to hearing from her and that I could basically start right away with the exception of a few days because we were headed out of town and my current job.
What am I to make of this interview? She did not ask me what my strenghts and weaknesses are. It was the strangest interview ever. She stated something along the lines of I don't need to go over different scenerios with you as we are both nurses and have been educated on what should be done properly. I did feel really comfortable with her, we sort of discussed things like we had known each other for more than the time we had spent together. I have to say this was not the typical interview. Maybe sh was just really busy. Can someone give me some insight here? Please. I really hope this job works out. Sorry for the lenght, I am a little detail orientd if you couldn't tell.
