insurance

Just curious ... what kind of personal liability insurance do y'all carry? Anyone have experience with the national nursing organizations' offerings?

I work in a hospital, for an agency, as a clinical instructor and as a volunteer in a church setting - just want to make sure I'm making the best choices to stay covered! Never been sued, but just moved to ER in the hospital, and feel a bit more exposed.

I have used the one available thru NSO for years. Can't think of the exact name of the insurer, but you can contact Nurses Service Organization. They usually have ads in many of the nursing journals. Cost is only about $90 per year, depending on where you live.

I've always used NSO. Their web site is http://www.nso.com

Thanks - will check them out. Has anyone had to "use" their services? I have heard that some of the insurance groups won't cover "on the job" events - say you need to be covered by employer. I know I sound paranoid - but with our ER being so busy, and such long waits - I'm just getting this feeling that someone will use the legal system to get back at us, and I want to be prepared.
