Instructor was a no show

Today was supposed to be my first lecture class but the instructor never showed. I guess she thought the lec times were M/R. How frustrated! It also took me 20 minutes to find out what room I was supposed to be in since they changed it so many times! Was anybody else in the same boat today...waited 40 minutes in that room..waste of time

Well, that's not nice. I suppose she will put it upon the students to make up for the lost time.

I take it you're talking about NUR 110 (Theory/Foundations) at WCCCD Western? Or maybe a nursing class at NW? (Similar things happened at WE and NW.) If not: crazy coincidence! If you *are* talking about the 110-at-Western thing, I'm in the same boat/was there. At least I got to exchange numbers with a few people - but still, ugh! As I understand it, though, it wasn't ****'s (can't name names, but you probably know who I mean) fault, just a breakdown in communication. Way to start the program, eh? :lol2:

I was at the nw campus... wow same thing happened at western campus. Yeah great way to start the program. Oh well, at least now I know where to go...I had a practice run!

Last term I attended the first day of a class where the instructor was late. Someone from the department came in and asked about him and told the students if he didn't show up soon to come let them know. Another student told me the instructor had a bad reputation. I suppose his attendance and punctuality were under the microscope. What a way to start a class when the instructor doesn't show enough interest to show up or be on time.

Hate when that happens! I've heard they couldn't get ahold of jenp313's instructor, which isn't good (correct me if I'm wrong?). In our (Western) case, though, the instructor wasn't to blame, at least - apparently no one had told her she would be teaching our class. "(She) is your instructor; she doesn't know it yet, but she is." Whoops! :lol2:

I was at Northwest too and had the same teacher for skills lab at two. She was there. And it really was just a breakdown of communication. The college asked the nursing program to change the 110 lectures to either be T/ TH or M/W in order to make it easier to book a room. It used to be M/ Th so the department changed it to T/ Th and never told the professors. So I don't really think she can be blamed. By the way the teacher who didnt show up at Northwest is extremely nice and she said she would lay out exactly what we need to know and not to worry because we "will be so smart" So don't worry she felt bad for missing class and isn't going to take it out on us. :)

That happens to the best of them. I always think of an accident or illness; but when it is a known occurance or MO, it is rude and uncalled for. Hope things go better.
