your input please!

so i was hired for a new grad position in a rehab hospital about three months ago. next week is my last week of orientation, but throughout this experience i have come to realize that rehab isn't something i want to stick with. i don't feel like i am utilizing alot of skills i learned in nursing school and feel that when i start looking at other positions in a yr, i won't have the experience they're looking for, nor be ready. i have an interview coming up in an acute care pediatric hospital which has been my DREAM job since starting nursing school, but i'm scared of questions concerning my loyalty. do u all think it's dumb to even go to this interview? should i stick it out and look into other positions after a year? again, i am COMPLETELY thankful i found a job 6 months after graduation, but rehab just isn't for me. any and all input will help!

When you get an opportunity to interview for your dream job, you take it. If your current employer asks, "Why are you leaving?" you answer honestly: "I got my dream job!"

They will be happy for you.

Totally agree with MN-Nurse. It's your dream job!!! If in the interview, they question your loyalty, tell them the same thing "This is my dream position. This opportunity means the world to me. It's what I've wanted to do since I was in nursing school." and so on and so forth. Best of luck!!!! Go for it!!!
