I know most professional employers would frown upon visible tattoos on medical professionals. If you look in most job requirement expectations of attire there usually is a section on body piercings and tattoos being visible and how inappropriate/unprofessional they are.

I currently have 3 tattoos and I plan on getting a couple more. All of mine have meaning and are strategically placed on my body for this specific reason. I don't want to come across as "unprofessional" so I don't have an issue with hiding them. I also think it's a generation thing. I know my grandma would be turned-off if she saw a nurse with a sleeve of tattoos. But it seems that most people my age have tattoos; it's no big deal.

I don't think it's morally wrong as long as you can hide them, but that's just my opinion.

i think you're going to have a difficult time finding reports/journal articles about this because it is more of an ethical issue than a scientific one. look over your assignment instructions, maybe you could do your paper more on the 'pros and cons' of visible tattoos.

Make sure you clearly define "moral' for this.

Unless the had something extremely offensive. I am not a fan of them myself but morally wrong? I don't think so.

There are a lot of discussion threads on this topic.

If I remember correctly, certain conservative christian sects, islam, and judaism all specify that the body is not to be marked/tattooed. So if you are defining nursing morality to be among the judeo-christian-islamic teachings? But my argument then would be why can't everyone regardless of religion be a nurse?

Your 'evidence' can come from interviewing hiring managers at local hospitals and their feelings on visible tattoos I suppose, but really the "moral" of something is very subjective. You can't prove a moral, so "evidence based" regarding it is a stretch. You can probably only offer evidence of opinions one way or the other.

Have a search of CINAHL it gives a number of articles. I don't think I can post the results here due to copyright.
