InEmory Spring 2022

Hello! I just wanted to post this discussion to see if anybody else is applying to the InEmory program scheduled to start in January 2022. Applications for the first round are due tomorrow and I am so excited to hopefully hear back this Summer!

No worries at all! I have been keeping up with this website for a few years to help me figure out if nursing school is for me/where I should apply, so I figured this would be a good place to find other applicants and keep up to date. Nice to meet you too and good luck with the application! I am so nervous!!

Me too!  Are you living in Atlanta? What's your background (in terms of undergraduate degree, work experience, etc)?

I actually grew up in Atlanta! I almost went to Emory for undergrad, but I did not feel prepared enough to commit to nursing and it was too expensive for the four years. I ended up going to the University of Georgia for three years where I just graduated a few weeks ago with a degree in nutrition, and decided I still wanted to stick with nursing so I am giving Emory another shot! They have an amazing program! I do not have any work experience in a hospital, although I do volunteer at one once a week! How about you?

Oh neat!  I don't have much hospital experience either (other than volunteer + shadowing). I got my undergrad at Georgia State in 2013 (in Religious Studies) and have worked at a homeless non-profit organization and a church in the interim! Have felt drawn towards healthcare for awhile so decided to take the pre-requisites a few years back but then had two babies + wanted to adjust to motherhood before diving into a program. Super excited to be heading back to school now + hoping I get in!

I haven’t! When did you submit your app? I submitted on 5/28. Congrats on your acceptance!

Also, did you check receive in Opus? My Status shows "Application Received." Is this where it changed?

I submitted my application on 5/17. But I received an email yesterday saying there was an “important status update” made on my application. I just clicked on the link provided in the email and it took me back to the application portal. On Opus, it was only saying application received but now it says that and “pay admissions deposit.” Thank you so much and good luck!!

I did and got accepted as well! I was confused and wondered if it was an error since it’s only been a few days since the first round deadline. I’m so excited and congrats to you!

OMG congrats!! I didn't realize they were sending out decisions so soon! I thought it would be at least another month.
