Im starting college in a couple of months, starting a new career in nursing. I plan to take out a considerable amount of college loans to help with finances while in school so I dont have to focus on a full time job and school at the same time. I had a question....What happens if your not selected for the nursing program? Are you required to start paying back student loans? Has anyone else been waiting on acceptance into their program??? What did you do in the meantime?

I may be wrong about this, but I think you are supposed to wait until you've been accepted to school before you apply for the loans. Apply to school, get the FAFSA form completed and then if you get accepted apply for the loans?? I think that's how it's done. Hopefully someone out there will reply. Good luck!

yes, you are right. You have to get into the program first before applying for student loan. That is what I did and most people that I know.
