Immunizations

Hello friends!

I just found out on October 31st 2014 that I have been conditionally accepted into the nursing program Generic Track. I am so happy and exited about the news. I now have to start completing my compliance requirements and mandatory orientation. I am going crazy trying to find my immunization records since they require evidence. I need to proof I am immune to HepB, Rubella, Chicken pox ect. I moved a lot when young, so between emails, calls and trouble over the phone I have decided to retake the HepB series. The shots take at least 3 to 6 months to complete since you can't take them all at once; they may cause bad results. So now, I have a deadline for december 31st to complete all the requirements and start in Spring 2015. Help; what should I do? Are they going to give me a break? Will they penalize me for not having all three HepB shots? Also I would like to know if anyone out there got accepted for the Class of Spring 2015 and what are your worries so far.

    Check in with the school to be 100% but as a nursing school they should realize that not everyone had the series as kids (or maybe they did but don't have records) and will usually allow you to begin with just the first shot. Hep B is a three part series so if u take the first injection today, the second would be 1-2 mons and the last would be 6 mons from now. I highly doubt they'd make u wait 6 months ;)

    Hi everyone! I started by going to my internal medicine physician. I brought all my required docs. He ordered titers for HepB, Rubella, Rubeola and chicken pox; he wrote prescription for the TB skin test and told me to go to centra care only for TB skin test. I went to LAb Corp and got my blood drawn. Later waited a couple of days and went back to centra care for follow up on TB screen, then I went back to my physician for blood results!! I was had the immunity for HepB and tested positive for Rubeola, Rubella and chicken pox antigens!!! Yayyy I was good to go! I went to walgreens and got my flu shot done.
