Hello Everyone!!
This is my first time in this forum. I just got accepted at UTA. I found out that the immunization that you need to take like the Hepa A and Hepa B takes 6 month. Do i have to finish all the shots ( i haven't done the Titer either) before the program starts or once i started the shot it is ok to show them that i am going to follow up with the rest?
I am really stressed out about this so i appreciate all the feedback. It is always the little things that you don't notice that get you eventually.

Every program is different, so you would need to ask your advisor. THat being said, I would assume that as long as you have started the series and give them verification of you completing the series you should be fine. Nursing programs know how long it takes to complete a series and you are usually accepted less than 6 months prior to the start.
Is there a reason you are vaxing instead of just getting titers? I am starting in the spring, and just had my titers drawn this week. It was one vial total used for MMR, HepB, and varicella, then the PPD for TB. I had all vax accept varicella (I got chicken pox as a child) so I should show positive on all the titers and wont have to get vaxed again. Did you not get vaccines as a child (no judgements if your didn't, just curious)? Also in my program, to register for classes after acceptance, you just have to show proof that you have started the series for each vax that is more than one dose, and then give them documentation after each shot in the series until complete.

Check out the website and the online BSN Student handbook which list the immunization requirements. If you have a question you will need to talk to the nursing department there. Congrats on acceptance...

I thought the vacs needed to be complete before you start clinicals.

Hi, Congrats! I just found out I got accepted to UTA's AP Spring 14 program too. I don't have my shots either. Let me know if you find out any information from your counselor. Thanks

Ive been doing mine since last year...I just took the flu shot last week but I had the Hep. series A & B over the last year...and now I see I have to do the meningitis one? I guess that is new for all college kids? I didnt have that years ago so I need it. BUT I have the rest. It is better if you get them done separate and in plenty of time (if possible)
