Hey there. My names Amber and Im a nursing student from Australia.

You sound exactly like how i was a couple of months ago. To make matters worse I was out of the country and had to reley on someone to get my mail for me to check it. I was going out of my mind!! I did get in though and it was the best feeling ever. If you dont get in then Its so not the end of the world. There is always next year and if you want nursing bad enough you will get it!! :) Hope you do get in. Best of luck ---Amber

I hope you get better news in your letter then I have, I was waiting since January and I opened my mail today to find out I was not accepted to the only program I wanted to go to , now I am so upset I feel these past few years taking Chemistry and A&P were a waste. , good luck to all those that are waiting

I'm waiting too. I turned my app in January 1st and won't get my letter until the middle of May. The pins and needles are poking me in the rear!! Everytime I open the mailbox it's like Christmas morning when I was five....

I was waiting till this past weekend. I was not accepted in the RN program. I was so disappointed. I like a couple of Biology classes and I was hoping to finish them while in the program, but the competition was tough. They said I could get in the LPN program though. I guess I will have to. I am so sad. I really need to do this. My husband has been disabled since June of 2003 and I need to make a living for us. Oh well...I guess I will have to get over it. Anyone else out there had to LPN first, then went back to RN?

Oh i feel for you. You sound like you really want nursing. I do not people who have done the LPN/EN course and have been very succesfull in their applications to university/college. It must be really hard for you and your husband. im sorry that you didnt get in. please dont be discouraged and keep trying, by the sounds of it you would make a fantastic nurse.

Now I am waiting for COS letter.......not too hopeful my GPA is very low compared to others I have read about here.......Anybody else in my position? Does anybody know how many students are being admitted for fall at COS???? I am going crazy waiting!!!

Fall admission for COS is 50. Next year they will up it 80. But it's GPA based

whereas FCC is lottery.. so in theory if you have a good GPA your chances are much better of getting in to COS!

So sorry you didn't get in on the first try. I will be joining you in the wait for the Spring 06 semester. Don't forget to reapply for Spring 06 as I understand it may not be an automatic entry.

I would prefer Fresno City as I live close by in Clovis, but am also dual applying to COS (College of the Sequoias) too. My GPA is 3.6, but if I can't get in one of those two ADN programs, I am going for the LPN to RN route which is determined by whomever gets in line first. Whatever I can do, I am going to be in nursing school by Spring 06. Only 3 more weeks until this semester is over.... last of my pre-reqs! YAYAYAYAYAY!

yes, i was an lpn and went back to school to become an rn it wasn't easy, but you can do it. i feel this way anything you learn is educational and no one can take that away from you. i have been in health care for 27 years and still love it. i can remember things i was taught in lpn school. good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just received my second rejection letter from Fresno City College. Spring 05 and now, Fall 05, rejected. Needless to say, I am totally bummed. The lottery system at FCC stinks! Oh well, I'm resubmitting my application for FCC's Spring 06 program. I wish you luck! Maybe we'll both get in in '06!

That is what I am afraid of.......how many times should I keep it up or just say forget it! I heard a "rumor" that once you apply twice then you go to a preferred list for the lottery.......basically you get in on the third try. Is that true, have you heard that?. Well I hope so! Good luck to you for Spring 06.....keep us posted. Have you thought of COS? I have even thought of Bakersfield but that would be an hour and a half drive one way.
