Hi everyone! My name is Faith and I am new here. For the past few months I have been reading ya'lls posts for motivation on my journey to becoming a nurse. I decided to post my first message today because I am losing my mind!
I finally finished my prereqs, applied to the ADN program, and have been waiting for a letter since April. They said it would be sent out the 2nd or 3rd week of May. So anyways, today, as I was leaving my house, I walked out the door, passed the mailbox, turned back around and checked it............. IT'S SUNDAY PEOPLE!!! I knew nothing would be there but I'm telling you, I am going crazy with this whole waiting thing!

I know just what you mean waiting for letters. The school I applied to goes on a point system and so after waiting a month I get a letter, and I get excited thinking that I got in, well it was to tell me my point total and that the notification letters would be mailed out in two more weeks. I am now entering the second week and like you I am very anxious

I can imagine that would be very tough. I will probably do the same thing. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for ya. Good luck!!!

Hi Going Insane-
My post is right below yours on the pre-nursing grouping and I completely understand. Our school went from a waiting list methodology to a point system, 60 points for finishing all your pre-reqs and then the other 40 are based upon your GPA, I have 90 total points that I'm competing with now. So I know where I am, but no clue about the others. Today is the deadline to turn in applications. The decision making process begins today and honestly, if I don't hear by the end of the month I will be a bloody mess...probably much worse off than you are because everyone else is riding on me, my husband, my mom to watch my daughter, my new job I took to compliment nursing school. I'm thinking of you, just do the same for me, and tell me as soon as you get your letter!

I understand! I was in your shoes about a month ago, sometimes checking the mail twice a day...just in case it fell out of the stack of junk mail. Hang in there :)
Good Luck!

Faith,
I'm going insane with you. My program is really waiting to the last second to let us know. Letters go out this week to invite us for interviews next week. Seems like the rest of the country knows if they got accepted for fall or not.
I'm anxious because if I didn't get in, I'll have to go to plan b and I don't like plan b! More classes, more tuition, more applications. Feels like I've been taking every class under the sun for every school in North America already.
Enjoy the ride, I hope we all get in!

Like my dear old momma used to say "A watched pot never boils." take it easy and forget about it then you will be really surprised when it comes.
