I really hate when things don't go as I plan them. I have contingency plans but I wanted PLAN A to work!!!
Actually it was the new Plan A so I suppose it was plan B and now I'm back to plan A. UGH!!
I was supposed to take a CNA course this fall that is a pre-req to the RN program I was supposed to start Spring 09 and I just read on the website that the CNA program won't be offered. Well I've sent an email asking for clarification but it went from saying "Fall 08" to "Coming soon". Since registration starts tomorrow, I doubt it will be this fall. I had heard that it might be a possiblity but I was hoping that it wasn't true.
So I'm back to hopefully starting in Fall 09, that's IF they have the CNA class available in the spring. I'm trying to come up with another solution but I just don't see it happening.

What about a different CNA program. Surely there must be some more around?
Don't give up!
The problem is my schedule. I'm doing everything online, except clinicals. I work during the day when I have childcare for my 3 kids. There is an evening program but it is 5:30-9. I work in the same city but live 45 minutes away. I can't pick up my kids, take them to the babysitter (if I could get one), and get to school by 5:30. I have a few friends in my area but I don't know if they would be willing to give up a month of evenings to watch my kids for me.
I'm not giving up, I'm brainstorming every possible option.

They might if you traded them for something *they* really want. Like watching *their* kids for a couple of weekends. Or a promise to help them clean their house at Christmastime... you know your friends better than I do. And, if all else fails, good old fashioned crying, groveling and wheedling can be quite successful. :chuckle
Hang in there! You've got the motivation to make this happen!

I know I would help out my friends in this kind of situation. I think the Christmas cleaning is a great idea, too. I would love it if someone cleaned my house at that time of year! Also, I don't like to cook, so I would love meals made for my family. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your friends. A month really is not that long of a time period to commit to something.
