Being in the educational system and being treated like a teacher we're asked to come up with two goals for the year that we get evaluated on at the end of the year. They can't just be something we normally are expected to do like promoting health through hand washing. We have to expand on everything. A lot of nurses do special programs like organizing a walk to school day or promoting staff wellness. However, I don't have time to do a big project having more than one school and we tried last year to get the staff more involved in several free wellness programs and they weren't receptive at all so I don't want to hinge a goal on that. Does anyone have any good ideas? I'm at a loss...

I am working on the same thing. I am going to do a student learning goal for related to asthma (i.e. symptoms recognition, proper use of inhaler). My teaching is pretty basic as my school is only PK/K. I can do pre/post test/interview to collect data. My other goal is related to handwashing. I will do direct observation to collect data... easy to do since my office is just outside the restrooms and the low sink is in the hallway :) Please post any ideas you have.... I've just started writing up my goals and could use some ideas for "evidence."

You could pull from the health common core related to the grades you teach and align it with your schools needs or requirements. In NJ you can find that info online by grade through the department of education. Also, check legislative requirements. Example in NJ I believe it is seniors must now be taught (not certified) CPR every year.
