the ICU book

Hello!

I'm a student nurse looking to specialize in critical care and was wondering what ya'll thought of the ICU book by Marino. It's written by a doctor which gets me wary. I was wondering if anyone has it and could share their thoughts on it, I'm looking into purchasing it but it's kinda pricey so I wanna make sure it's even worth it. thanks in advance!

Hello RNin2011:

I also have the ICU Book but the 3 that I go to the most often are:

Diepenbrock, Nancy. Quick Reference to Critical Care. 3rd edition 2008. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins ISBN: 978-0-7817-7714-8

Baird MS, Keen JH, Swearingen PL. Manual of Critical Care Nursing: Nursing Interventions and Collaborative Management. 5th edition. 2005. Elsevier Mosby ISBN: 0-323-02657-5

AACN Advanced Critical Care Nursing. 2008. Saunders ISBN: 1-4160-3219-3

Also why don't you check out the "sticky" thread at the top of the forum. There are a great number of web sites and resources posted there.

Hey, have fun.

athena

i got mine off of amazon for like $30 and its in new condition

I love this book, got mine on Amazon too, $25, I always have it with me in the ER and ICU, it was brand new when I got it, now it is dog-eared and pretty used up!

This book is awesome.
