Hi everyone,
I did it!!!!!:roll I turned in my resignation and have signed with Signature Healthcare in Iowa. I plan to do 6 months of per diem then hope to travel after that. We have purchased a new truck and 5th wheel and plan to RV it. In one of the threads I read the husband was the social director and would scout out places to see. We thought that sounded like a great plan.
I do have a few questions for all you experienced travelers:
1. Should I talk with a financial advisor before I start traveling?
2. If you take the housing stipend, is this tax free?
3. If you take the housing, does this affect your hourly wage?
4. If you have a suggestion for a great ED for my first travel experience, I would love to hear about it.
5. Has anyone traveled to Iowa? Where and what did you think of the hospital?
Thanks......I'm so excited!!!:rotfl:

Great start in starting out per diem. This will help you get used to switching around and adapting to different facilites.
Enjoy your traveling. Please keep us posted

the rule for tax free housing subsidy is that you must be working in a travel assignment more than 50 miles away from your permanent tax residence. dont know how this affects people without a permanent address. you can still get the housing subsidy if you dont qualify, you just pay tax on it.
