This is great photo, Emergent and one which I not only have respect for its message, but also for the method.

Someone painted a sign that has balanced lettering in red with an unattractive color of green for its background and placed it in a somewhat rural setting.

If by any chance you meet the person who created this work, Emergent, please let them know they have one fan back here in Illinois.

Yes! and I truly appreciate the way in which the individual put across the point.

Too often I see homemade signs that make me cringe due to the layout and choice of colors. It's like reading a post with poor spelling and grammar; the message gets across, but it takes effort not to be distracted by the awkward presentation.

This individual's letters are balanced and the choice of colors intensifies the message. The unattractive green background conveys purulence; an infection. The red conveys seriousness- that's why stop and emergency signs are done in red.

Add to it that the sign is not overwhelming, as it is placed in somewhat of an insignificant area- something like a fence or the backside of a larger sign. The positioning connotes the problem situation is a part of the whole.

Whether all this was done intentionally or intuitively, I doff my proverbial hat to its creator.

I actually have a friend that is in his early 60's that is getting disability for the diagnosis of "PSTD caused by nursing" or something like that and doesn't have to work. He says he recognizes the signs in me and is urging me to do it as well and quit working. I won't pursue it, but I might have to agree with him.

I takes it's toll and is a real thing.

You know, Emergent, I got so caught up in the sign's presentation that I neglected to comment on irs message.

I am quite sure that the year plus has increased stress levels to the point that traumatic after effects have resulted. We have witnessed this both globally and locally; we have seen the trauma in others' lives and have felt it at home.

The sign identifies a problem, which is the first step in its solution, and is making people aware of it through a very personal expression.

What happens next is anyone's guess.
