Aside from my Need Based Scholarship I have to pay for all my books and the remainder of my classes out of pocket, which was $1,100 this semester but now I have ran into an issue of having to pay for my scrubs, background check, drug trst, shoes, watch and misc. Things they need for us to gather for clinical. I am completely tapped out of money and I am supposed to have this all played for by next Friday. I am thankful I made it into classes but it seems I have hit a wall solely on a few $100's worth of extras. I felt so good starting but now the stress is already weighing on me, but let me say, this isn't my first time in Nursing School. I am a returning student from 4 years ago so I knew these things were needed but prices have just went up. No idea what to do. My family has helped so much but they don't have the money either. Guess I just needed to vent.

That's totally alright to vent, even recommended. It is something that many of us have to face. I don't qualify for anything from applying to FAFSA because I already have a bachelor's degree, so all my bills, tuition, and all other extra charges are also out-of-pocket. I just make sure I commit to a part-time job, being a CNA or anything else, so I can pay for all that. One thing that could have lightened your burden a bit is to have started working before school, so you would have saved a little bit up for emergencies like this.
I wish I would have. My BF and I decided while I go to school he will work and vice versa when I am done so we can both have a great education. I hate having to ask for money but I guess I am going to have to break down and do it so I can get it all done bc if I sont by the 23rd I cant start clinicals. Thank you for you input, it is greatly appreciated.

Is obtaining a private student loan an option? Entities such as Sallie Mae, Bank of America, Citibank, Chase, Wells Fargo, and your local credit union offer them. Even if you don't work or don't have much of a credit history, perhaps a family member or your boyfriend would be willing to cosign.

Well first I want to commend you for actually doing it. I was accepted into nursing school and was suppose to start January 5th of this year but did not/could not go because of financial reasons. I would have be paying about the same amount monthly as you and trying to maintain my household which seemed impossible for me. The best advice I can give you is a combination of what you have already been told which is talk to your teachers nobody wants to be that 1 in class having to tell their life story but you might need to just tell your teachers whats going on. Not all of them but some of them will have some empathy for you and may be able to offer up good ideas or places to go to get the things you need for little or nothing. Good Luck being stressed about money and training to maintain your grades is very hard I know try to not let it consume you though.
