Hey everybody,

I don't know hwere to start....I'm from Germany and since almost 2 years here in the US as a Nanny (AuPair)!

I take the NC-LEX in september and I'm a RN in Germany! I don't have any workexperience and I'm out of all the Nursing and medical stuff since I'm here!

Now I started to prepare for the NC-LEX but its soooooo much!

I forgot almost everything I learned in Germany and I don't know where to start with all that!

I'm not sure if the challenge, to take the NC-LEX is too much for me!

Its all so overwhelming! I take a Kaplan Course over 4 months now (online and 1 week in a classroom)! I

I'm out of that Nursingarea since a long time and its just soooo hard that I don't know right now where I am!

Thanks! Felt good to let it all out.....!

I used the following materials-

Saunder's comprehensive review(book and CD)

Kaplan CD

NCLEX Review 3000 CD publised by Springhouse

Kaplan is really helpful. it teaches you the test taking strategies.

Saunder's helps me get prepared for nursing knowledge.

NCLEX Review 3000 CD is exellent! It has 3000 questions. After going through it, you learn nursing knowledge as well as practice test taking skills. And the rationale is really good. I highly recommand it.

I've taken NCLEX twice. some tips: you dont have to go too deep into the pathophysioloy of the diseases. Focus on the signs, symptoms and nursing considerations. And really take your time when answering each question. And pray to God.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advise Jen!

For foreign nurses, the best thing out there is Saunder's. They do the best job of explainign rationales, and that is the most important aspect in preparing for the exam. I use no other book when I teach, and they all pass.

Your choice.
