I need help with wording on an application

I recently chose to resign my position versus being terminated. I had a medication error for giving a patient 0.5mg instead of 0.25 of ativan. I didn't realize the error until I had an undocumented waste on the Pyxis. I was unable to prove if I gave the patient a whole pill instead of a half. House keeping had emptied the trash before the room was searched. So management could not find the packaging. I offered blood, urine and a search but they declined. So it came down to my word against theirs. I have a new job at a nursing home, but I know that is not where I want to be. I have been filling out applications for hospitals and I put the reason for leaving as "Medication discrepancy". But I am having trouble knowing how to explain it so I can get hired on at a hospital. I had a phone interview and got a polite "No Thank You" email. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would not mention it at all. If there are legal implications, just deal with those as they come. Otherwise, the reason you want to leave is for "better growth opportunities". Sounds as good as the reasons employers give for needing to fill a spot.

I agree. Unless you are terminated d/t the error or if there are issues that arise from it, just don't mention it. Just say you are looking for something else/better.
