I Need Help

i really need help. so i figured this is the best forum to try. my name is fabienne i'm 23 and i live in connecticut (fairfield county). i just recieved my cna cerificate. i want to go to school to become an rn. i just don't have the funds for it though (i've wasted time and money on a major that everyone else wanted for me).

i've heard people talking about programs that will pay for you to go to nursing school if you work for them afterward. i would be more than willing. i have been up and down the internet but can't find anything in my area. i'm willing to travel if i need to. i'm willing to do whatever it takes. so please if anyone has any ideas please let me know. i really don't know what to do. but i know i have to realise this dream. i know this is my calling. i won't be happy in any other field. and honestly i can't waste anymore time.

please help.

Did you look for grants in your state? I know kentucky has a grant that says if you work as a nurse in the state of kentucky for 4 years the state goverment pays back your loan. They pay so much money to your loan each year so buy the end of your fourth year it is paid off.

Most of the programs you are referring to are tuition reimbursement programs through the hospitals where the students receiving them are working.

When you apply as a CNA in a hospital, ask about tuition reimbursement programs. Find out 1. How much they reimbursement, 2. How long you have to 'pay' them back w/ an obligation, and 3, How long you have to be an initial employee to take advantage of them. (some places require you work for them a year or so first).

Try this www.goodsamaritancollege.com They have an EXCELLENT reputation. Also, check out hospitals in your area. Many times they will pay for tuition if you promise to work so many years after graduation.

Your local nursing school program director should also be able to tell you about reimbursement programs in your area.
