i WAS JUST INFORMED ON MY ACCEPTANCE INTO L.A. HARBOR COLLEGE! i AM THRILLED:yeah:

i GOT IN PRETTY QUICK ALSO. THERE WAS NO WAITING LIST FOR LVN'S ONCE YOU COMPLETED THE LV-RN TRANSITION COURSES. I AM ON MY WAY:nurse:

That's awesome, congratulations!!

Your post actually made me feel a little bit relieved that maybe it's not going to take an eternity to get accepted. I just got my LVN license a couple weeks ago. I am still doing my pre-reqs, but it's good to hear that it might not be so difficult to get in!

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah: CONGRATS!! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Thank you. I feel lucky because the usual wait list is 1-2 years...YUCK! Being an lvn did have some advantage after all. There are hundreds of generic rn students whom I would have had to compete with, but my lvn license put us ahead of the line:lol2:

Congrats ! I'm looking for a lvn to rn after I graduate in sep. , I live near lahc , but was just curious about there prereq requirements . How many ? Did u take them at lahc ? And how long is there lvn to rn program ? I looked on there web site but couldn't find these answers.

Hi BlowingBubbles,

The prereqs are pretty standard: micro,chem,a&p,math 125,eng 101, psych 1&41. I took these at different community colleges because every class was full. I drove all over the place just to get into a class.:eek:

It paid off though. Once u finish ur prereq's, take the lvn-rn trans. courses. You should be accepted very quickly(this was my experience).LVN"S at this point, do not have a waiting list!:D You must have a min 2.5 gpa also.

Good luck:)

The lvn-rn program is 3 semesters.

Caffeine Addict. Did you have to apply to the program before you took the LVN courses?

I was already an LVN. You need to have your license as an LVN once you submit your application to the lvn- rn program.

So the process is put in the application then you can take the lvn-rn courses then after that you are straight in the program. I am asking because I have a fellow lvn that has all her preqs and is looking for somewhere to bridge before they expire.

hey caffeine congratulations!!!

i just wanna ask you sumtin....when u applied for the lvn-rn program were the pre-reqs the same as the rn program?? cuz im done with all the pre-reqs but i had to repeat a couple of science classes....so i just wanna know if i can still apply?? thanks.... oh btw im an LVN student....
