Hello all, I got accepted to the accelerated BSN at Barnes Jewish in St. Louis, starting in January. I applied to three other schools but for the summer of 08'. I will be done 6 months earlier, so I guess it will be worth it. My wife (getting married in 2 months) and I plan on doing long distance unless it simply does not work (I am not at all looking forward to this). Any words of wisdom? I thought that I had 9 more months before starting a program but this presented itself and I am going to do it. Thanks

:monkeydance::monkeydance::monkeydance: Congratulations!!!! Good luck in the program and in your marriage. Advice would be to take care of all the small things i.e.
house, car, any money matters, and things that may divert your attention from your studies you really donr need any distractions:balloons:

what too expect......catty women, sexy women, women that are like aunts, sisters, grannies. Flirting and Dating students can be helpful or hurtful. I messed up quite a bit due to the distractions of all the women, hope this helps.

Don't get married haha:trout: 27 is way to young... I was engaged to my highschool sweetheart for 5 years and I'm glad I didn't get married... There's too much out there and guess what your in a female dominant profession. There will be tons of fishing for you, just use the right bait:monkeydance:
I am actually marrying a pharmacist and she is the reason why I am able to go back to school. Meanwhile, we are able to keep our house and not have to take out more loans for the BSN program. The program at Barnes jewish is not as expensive as some of the other schools that I applied to, so I guess that is good. I know what you mean though. 26 is young; but it's not about the age, more about the mileage. Know what I mean?

Thanks everyone for the replies...

Sounds like a good plan. The only words of wisdom I can offer is don't ever get behind, especially since it's accellerated, because there's no catching up.
Good luck.
Congratulatiosn on the marriage and the acceptance. Best of luck to you.
well i'm happy 4 you and you know a relationship is a full time job/school, your always working and learning from a relationship...kudos 2 you

You guys have it all figured out! :w00t:
My peers aren't just my peers anymore! They are "catty women, sexy women, women that are like aunts, sisters, grannies". What more "There's too much out there and guess what your in a female dominant profession. There will be tons of fishing for you, just use the right bait"
Als I gotta do is figure out the right bait and I'm set, yeah?
I knew I made the right choice to get into nursing! All those hot chicks helping while performing an I&D of a double mastectomy burn victim - you know, the kind where the wound is so deep you can bury both hands under skin, tissue and muscle and clean while your partner debriedes the wound? Or handling a combative patient with projectile fecal emesis!
What am I saying! Y'all know the drill!
It's a dream come true! Thanks you guys!
thanks,
Matthew
