Hello guys,
I had trouble right from the start and here is my latest problem.
I sent the Visa Screen form to the nursing schools. One counted the hours , filled out the form and will send it to CGFNS today. The other one is strange. They copied the timetable , of course not in English, and did not filled out the form. So I guess CGFNS won`t accept this? I mean they did not fill out the form and it doesn`t seem that they feel that they ever want to do that. My spirit is a bit low now.
Any advice?
Thanks,
nutella

Visa Screen requires a full set of your transcripts, not a form filled out with hours. It is best if they also include the hous, but what they are really looking for is the completed set of transcripts.
The page with the form is actually for the CGFNS exam. Schools can just fill that out, and they do not need to include the full set. I always suggest that they do.
Do you still have any friends or family where you school is? I suggest that you have one of them go over to your school, and have the school complete what is required while they are there, then put it into a sealed envelope, and then they can send the envelope for you by courier service.
Suzanne,
not enough that I am doomed anyway, I am too stupid to understand that.
Transcripts, what does it exactly mean? My certificate and my license, I guess?
Transcripts are a listing of all of the courses that you had in school, as well as your grades for each course. It is usually two to three pages long, depending on the program.
Your Certificate as well as license, are two completely different things.
One is the same as the Diploma, and the other is thru your licensing body, what they are looking for is the transcripts.
thanks.
what they did was just taking the whole scedule and copying it, but without grades as the only grades we get are the grades with our final exam. And I guess that they didn't send out my final exam certificate .Our exam is divided into 3 parts: written, oral and practical exam. So do you think it is best to send the copy and translation to my school that they can just go ahead and send it back to the CGFNS? I got that translated some time ago.
The first school just filled out the form but didn't specify anything,I guess I will wait for the Visa Screen to get that forms and wait what they want me to do.
Also I am waiting for N.Y. Bon to advice me what to do, as CVS could not get anything from Germany.
My nexy idea, just in case that it doesn't work out is to apply for License in MA directly without a V.S. Certificate and waiting until I can file AOS through my husband. It will take me some more time anyway, and my TOEFL will expire January 2007.
And something else: If I have to do some classes, can I do it with H4 visum or do I need at least something else ?
I know, a lot of questions...
thanks again,
Yes, you can take classes with the visa that you are on now. You can go for licensure where ever you want, but you will still need to deal with CGFNS for the green card.
NY requires that the docuements be obtained by CGFNS, they will only accept things that way. Do you have family or firends still there that can actually go to your school and make sure that things are done correctly?
Vermont will be faster in terms of being able to write the NCLEX exam.
The class schedule is normally not accepted, they need the actual transcript with the grade that you received for each course. Even if each grade was just your final exam score.
I can try to activate my sister for that document purpose.
the only thing she will have to do is to go there, ask them to copy everything they have, also my certificate , and send it back?
I guess I am in trouble . My husbands employer started the GC process, they are now doing the labor certification process, but once that is done, they will file for AOS , but I was told that I can apply only once for a GC. Which means that the only reason I still want the Visa Screen Certificate is to get my endorsement done. I could endorse a MA license but only if I have an initial license plus the VSC.
I am really troubled. I know that it should not be a problem to get everything done, but obviously it is a mess.
Oh my gosh.
We don't have that kind of system. You just go to nursing school, get your education and then you write a test and do the oral etc., but they don't split it up like:surgical, medical, psychiatry etc.. It just says: written, oral, practise.
Thats it . But VisaScreen said that the license stuff meet the program requirements, so they accepted what the lady from the license buro has sent to them and turned out to be good enough.
Hm.Oh-shall they also send in a copy from my final test? The whole thing?
wow. I guess I will call another nurse from Austria today. She applied in MA initially and had CES done everything . It took a year but she has her license etc.. Their system is similiar .

Visa Screen Certificate has absolutely nothing to do with endorsement. It is strictly for immigration purposes only.
You have actually caused much more work for yourself. I always thought that you wanted the VSC for the green card, but since you no longer need that. You will be getting a spousal green card. Just got the route of MA for licensure, or if you wnat quicker NCLEX tinme fram,e just go to Vermont.
You are making way too much work for yourself. There is no state that requires a Visa Screen Certificate for endorsement.

Forget about the VSC, you only need that if you are going to apply for a green card, and since you are not, you are making way too much work for yourself. You will only need to take the NCLEX exam and pass. You will not be able to work until you get a visa that will permit you to, though.
Well, that is latest news with that GC!!! Because I have so much trouble with that stuff, his employer started the process, but it was recently.
when I checked the webside for MA BON, they gave me different options how to endorse and I called them. They told me because of my foreign education they will not endorse it right away . I will have to go through CES or I will have to present the Visa Screen Certificate. I started the whole thing before dh employer got into action.
Are you really sure, that MA will endorse without that Visa Screen thing?
Do I understand it right:
- I could wait for N.Y.BON to be nice and let me sit the NCLEX ( one guy told me that they sometimes use the transcripts from CGFNS and make an exemption. Take the NCLEX, and endorse MA as soon as I get AOS/GC?
or
- N.y. BON denies, I apply for initial license in Vermont. Do they need CES?
I know Suzanne, I am a severe case here- kick me , please for my stupidity...
