I failed the TABE test two times...I failed the math portion, I did better the 2nd time though. Now I have to take VPK classes. I am really nervous because I want to start in August 2011 but I have so much more to do. TABE test, TEAS test, then the interviewing process.
I am 22 and I've already waisted so much time and now I finally figured what I want to do and it feels impossible.

You are 22...quit worrying. I am 39 and graduating in Sept 2011. This is my second career and believe me it is never too late. If you keep looking at life that way, you will worry all the time. I am also a single mom of 2 boys that play sports, so life for you is barely begining.

Do not get discouraged.....as rhetorical as it sounds...22 is SO young. The first thing I suggest ...is FOCUS. In order to accomplish your goal of being a nurse, you are going to have to put EVERYTHING into it. Best advice I have gotten so far...treat your GPA as a newborn baby....it will make ALL the difference. Spend money on study guides, it is worth it and become SINGLE MINDED about your goal. If this is truly what you want, you are going to have to put everything else on hold. It is very competitive in nursing right now, the schools have their pick...so you must be able to set yourself apart. Average is no longer ...go enough. Be persistant and GO FOR IT!

You can do this... just take as much time as you need... don't rush it and don't pressure yourself. I went back to nursing school at 24... got my LPN. I am now 35 and going back for my RN! You have time... and education is important, so don't rush and DO NOT get discouraged...
Here is a good study site. http://www.testprepreview.com/tabe_practice.htm
You can study for a variety of tests at the above site.
I don't want to scare you, but DO want you to be informed: the teas V test is difficult... The national MEAN (average) on the one I just took on Tuesday was 63. My program required a 65 to be eligible for the program. I scored an 83, and I am a 4.0 student. So, do not get discouraged and STUDY. There is no better study guide than the TEAS V study guide direct from ATI. Every question I had was based on something in the book, and on my results had the corresponding page.
