HVCC nursing program admission process

Hello all,

I took the TEAS V test at HVCC. Does anyone know how long it takes the school to send notification on whether or not you have been accepted? Thanks.

Hello all,

I took the TEAS V test at HVCC. Does anyone know how long it takes the school to send notification on whether or not you have been accepted? Thanks.

WHat did you get? I took the TEAS in early 2010 and got a 92%, I found out I was accepted about two weeks after, they sent certified mail to my house. Things are more competive now, especially with a lot of people failing out and having to re-take Nursing I, so that takes up seats.

I got a 77%. I am sure that is below the accepted score for the day time program, but I applied for the night time/part time schedule, so I believe for that program the acceptable grade is not as high. I am happy for you, that you got accepted. It would have been nice if the admissions office would have sent me a letter saying I was not accepted, that way I would go to plan B. Did you complete any of your pre-reqs before taking the TEAS test, which made it easier for you to score higher on the TEAS?

Actually, I was accepted into the night program and put on a wait list, and had to accept days (otherwise I would have had to wait until Fall 2012 to start the night program...and I was accepted in 2010! Ridiculous) The night program is way more competitive because there are less seats. I think next year the class will be bigger. Have you tried contacting Cathy in the nursing department? She's super helpful.

Oh and no - I had been out of school for about 6 years when I took the TEAS. I have my BS in Biology though (2004).

Hi everyone,

I know this thread is a few years old. Trying to bring some life back to the HVCC forum.

Since the two of you have gone through the pre-admission process, can you shed some light as to how it goes?

Taking some pre-reqs this summer -- any advice to set yourself apart or be a better candidate?
