HowardCC and CCBC Evening/Weekend Program

Does anyone have any information about these programs? How are the teachers? What does a normal schedule look like for the program? How many nights a week are class/lab and when are clinicals? Are clinicals every weekend? Do these programs run year round or just follow the spring/fall schedule? Any information would be great, the more information the better!!!!

I thought for each these program I would be at school 2 nights and have clinicals either 2 nights or on the weekend. Just want some clarification.

I work full-time and I'm trying to figure everything out! Stressed out! I've been accepted into Villa Julie Accelerated part-time Evening/Weekend Bachelors program, but unless financial aid comes through its probably one of these community colleges! And I am #8 on waitlist at Howard Community College.

10. How does the Evening/Weekend program differ from the day nursing program?

The Evening/Weekend program is currently offered only at CCBC Essex. Students are admitted once a year in the fall semester. The Evening/Weekend program is a full two years spanning the winter and summer sessions. The program courses are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and clinicals are on Saturday and Sunday. After Fundamentals of Nursing (NURN150), the courses are usually 10 weeks long and they begin in mid-January and mid-July. It is highly recommended that students complete all of their General Education Requirements before entering the program.

Tuesday and Thursday lecture 6-8 p.m.

Tuesday or Thursday Lab 8:15 - 9:45 pm

Saturday & Sunday 7 a.m.-12 noon (clinical)

I graduated from the HCC program in 2005. When I was there the first two semesters class was in the evening I believe it was twice a week (can't really remember) and clinicals was every other weekend. The last two semesters class was once a week from 4:30pm to 9pm and clincals was Monday and Tuesday night I believe from 5:30-11:30. I worked full time and it was very hectic but I made it through. As far as the accelerated program I actually transfered from one of those to HCC because working full time and trying to manage an accelerated program was very hard work and stressful. Most nursing instructors are not very light hearted to anything else that you have going in your life.
