How to turn down a job

Simply be polite and honest. Thank her for the opportunity to interview and after some thinking you decided to go with the other position. The big thing is to not burn any bridges just in case ICU doesn't work out for you.

I interviewed today at a hospital with the two specialties I wanted, ICU and L&D (I know weird combination:) But I actually got a call this afternoon saying that Both managers really wanted to hire me, and I have to choose, I have to go with my heart, and I fell in love with ICU the minute I walked into the unit. I wanted to get advice on how to turn down the other position. I am sick over this because the L&D manager was the sweetest nurse ever, should I send her a thank you card for the interview? What should I say when I call her?

Please advise, I am having a serious guilt trip:eek:
