How to study

Hello everyone I have a problem I graduated from nursing school in May 2011 I was schedule to take NCLEX but life got in the way I want to take nclex now but where do I start and what do i need to do to get there any suggestion are welcome

I've been out of school since 2008 but my brain is fresh. I always used Saunders but since I came to this website, Iv'e heard about exam cram, ncsbn, pda, nclex 3500, kaplan and hurst. It's up to u what u want to use to study but they are all good.

Honestly, the only resources I used the most were the Saunders NCLEX RN CD & the NCLEX 3500. I didn't have the money to spend on anything else. I borrowed the Saunders CD from a coworker and the NCLEX 3500 was free online. I also downloaded all the free apps I could find on my phone so I could study on the go. My school utilized ATI all throughout the semesters and we had a 3 day ATI live review after graduation that was included in our tuition. I took NCLEX this morning and in my opinion, the free NCLEX 3500 was the closest to the actual questions I had today! I really don't believe you have to spend a ton of money to prepare...unless you have the money to spend, in which I did not.

Believe me, I was stressed out too! Many sleepless nights and tears. Just try and to questions every day and read the rationales...even on the ones you got right, just so you have a complete understanding. Also remember to take time out and relax and give your brain a rest, otherwise you'll be on information overload. The day before my test I didn't study at all. I just needed a break. The morning of my exam I just looked over my lab values one last time, read my Bible a bit and PRAYED REAL HARD! You can do it...good luck!
