How many babies?

I was just wondering what the largest multiple birth you've seen or had at your hospital?

Quads? Quints? More? Did they all survive?

How common are they there?

Me, personally, I saw quads, and yes they all survived.

Ou hospital has deliver sextuplets.

We get lots of triplets and even more twins--most trips are the result of IVF or clomid but I've seen a few spontaneous. I'd say about half my twin mamas were the result of IVF.

It used to be more common when women would go to fertility docs and get pumped full of embryos. Now they have better technology and can place just 2 or 3 (or even one) embryos.

Also many mothers choose to selectivley reduce their gestation. So they may start being pregnant with sextuplets may only carry twins in the end.

The other day the hospital I am doing clinicals at had triplets born via c/s and lady partsl twins about 5 minutes apart. Resuscitation teams had to be called per unit policy (pre-term) - but there weren't five teams available! All turned out fine though :)

We had quads once. All survived and did very well, i think she delivered at 32-34 weeks. I can't remember exactly which week she delivered. We've had several sets of triplets too. Think only one set of the triplets was a natural conception, all others were invitro.

Highest I've seen was quads, delivered at 32 weeks. All went home after a couple months in NICU. Recently we had 35-weeker triplets. Mom had been with us on bedrest since about 23 weeks.

We've had one set of IVFquints,2 sets of spontanous quads!! All did well. Mom of one set of quads also had twins at home and the other one had an 11 month old at home.

We delivered two sets of quads a few months ago. They were delivered within a month of each other I think both moms were at about 31 weeks. I am not sure how the babies are doing now.
