I want to do the ADN to MSN online program with Walden University, but how do I know if they are accepted/accredited for California? I've heard of some people doing their schooling only to find that their degree isn't worth anything.........is this true??? How can I avoid this happening?

Ask your state board of nursing.

I'm not sure what you're asking. I presume you're already an RN. People get their Masters from all over the country and move around the country. You're degree is not registered with any state agency. You're not going to be taking any state exams when you finish. You just put on your resume that you got your Degree from them and make job applications.

They have their accreditation from the CCNE, which is a high standard for nursing education, which is as follows:

http://www.aacn.nche.edu/Accreditation/

Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate education programs preparing effective nurses.

Then why do I hear that the college network's degrees are not recognized in the state of California???

The College Network is not a school. It is a publishing house. Excelsior College's RN is not accepted in California because there are no clinical hours.
