How do I deal with this?

I work at a community college as a nurse assistant instructor. This is my first semester teaching. I have a "boss" who does not get back to me on very important matters. She asked me to give her the materials for background checks on my students so the background checks can be done. I give them to her, which in turn she now tells me I have to type out letters that are sent with these background checks. OK, first I was told to turn them in, that the secretary would send them in, now I am told I need to do this. I have no problem typing out the letters, it's just the fact that the college has the information and I don't have the SS#'s that I need to put on the roster. Ms. "Boss" stated she would get those to me, but has yet to do this. I am not based on the college campus. I am based at an extension center and that is where my mail comes.

I have letters ready to send, but no SS#'s. I am getting very tired of being a secretary, teacher, and spending my money for supplies and ink for my printer. I have to print out my own tests on my computer or go to the extension center and run late in printing out tests.

We also had to do our clinicals during Spring break. The rest of the college students were out on break and we were in clinicals because of the weather we had before that caused 4 days of missed class. I know the weather can't be blamed, but some of the students had plans for the Spring break week.

This college hasn't had a basic nurse assistant program in 2 years and I am starting to wonder why! :banghead:

you need to have a serious set-down talk with Mrs. Boss and maybe even her boss. Things will only get worse unless everyone is on the same wave length.

I agree. Unless something gets done fast, you will find yourself overloaded and very unhappy. I have seen the same thing happen to a friend of mine in the past. She was expected to just jump in and know the job without any real formal training. She was very unhappy and left.
