How to get into a BSN program in Bay Area with being a transfer student

U.S.A. California

Hi everyone,

I recently posted a question but I've narrowed my choices down to University of San Francisco, Samuel Merritt University and Dominican University. As well as CCSF and CSM. So far I have a Cumulative GPA of 3.00. For SMU, they include all GE's and science prerequisites and classes I took such as Intro to Philosophy, Nutrition, Psychology, I received a C. Other classes aren't as bad and I plan to take Anatomy in the summer and Physio in the fall. Will those C's hurt my chances? Classes such as English, Math, etc I have A's in. But those GE classes screwed over my GPA. Sciences: Chemistry lec/lab is a B, and Microbio lec is a B-, lab is an A. Since about 3-4 classes will be in progress at the time of the application (for spring 2014) will it hurt my chances as well? Also I am not done with all my classes, hope to be done by the Fall and have my GPA raised. I volunteer in a radiology dept and will also start as a clinical assistant in another hospital. I plan to use my Microbio professor and the nurse I volunteer with as my references. Does anyone know what the avg GPA is for transfer students for these schools? What are they looking for? How could I be considered a competitive candidate?
