Hi everyone. Is NP programs as difficult to get into as nursing school? Does anyone have any idea how many applicant's there are for each opening? I am wondering about the compeition. I plan on applying to grad school next year. Currently I have a 4.0 and am a critical care nurse with almost 9 years experience, very active at work in committees, policies, and nursing in general. I feel I should be able to get good recommendations, but I am still worrying. I also hold CCRN and CMC certifications. Anybody have any idea what grad schools are looking for in their applicants?

Well, I guess it depends on the program..I'm sure there are some that are highly competitive. I think for the most part, NP/MS Nursing programs are hungry for students, want the $$ and are eager to accept students. I don't think it means they will take any schlep who darkens the door, but I don't think it is anywhere near as competitive as it was to get into a BSN program.
