How to decline interview

Nurses Career Support

Hi, I have been offered a job for a week now and already started the signing of paperwork and drug testing for job, but I got a call today for an interview for another hospital. Last week I did a phone interview and the recruiter said she will get my application to the manager. Well since last week I didn't hear anything back till today but I have already accepted another offer. How do I decline them politely so that they won't reject me in the future if I apply with them again? Any advice will be appreciated

Just tell them that you have already accepted another position. It is unlikely that they maintain records of routine applications or interview schedules. Even if they did, you certainly haven't done anything wrong by accepting a job somewhere else. You'll be fine if you find yourself applying for a job with them in the future.

Congratulations on your new job!

Yup, just tell them "Thank you, but I have already accepted another position."

They won't take it personally, because "they" aren't a person, they are a business. And this is just that -- business. It won't offend.

just tell them asap. they'll be happy to move on to the next and not have to wait to schedule you.
