How did you decide where to go to school?

I am in the process now of trying to figure where to apply and where to go to nursing school. I am taking all my pre-reqs at the community college and then will transfer. Looking at all the different pre-reqs, the schools, and the cost is sooo overwhelming! I cannot even find info on some of the schools websites to set up an appointment and make sure I am doing everything correctly! It's frustrating! Did you apply to schools and then take a tour or check out the school before you even applied? What madde you pick the school you did?

I checked the tuition rates, then the NCLEX pass rates. Whichever one I get accepted to will be the one I'll be graduating from eventually.

When the time gets closer I will go in to speak to someone about the program.

Unless I was single, childless, and rich, I would never go anywhere but a community college first. I think it is a huge waste of money to spend 4 years working on 1 degree that can be done in 3 years (ADN-RN, then RN to BSN accelerated) by doing both the CC+University route (for a BSN). In this area our CC has a well known and respected nursing program with good NCLEX rates. The University's reputation isn't as great. I have heard it has to do with the clinical experience gained. Although I will go there for my BSN...
