How common is it for schools to require the TEAS?

In the Bay Area all of the schools I looked into require it and I looked into most of the CC's and Universities.

My school does not (CC in Ohio), though they redid the admissions requirements to the nursing program (but I'm grandfathered into the old ones because I've already gotten my name on the list) and they are going to require some sort of entrance exam. That said, the admissions counselor indicated that they were unsure which test that they would be using - though that's been a few months, so they may know now.

I've applied to a state BSN program in CO and they don't require it. Just GPA and essay.

My school did not require it. Our admission is very simple. GPA of four classes and a C or higher on the rest of the prereqs.
