Hospitals

Hi! Though I'm still waiting for the results of the June 2007 NLE, I know it would be better to find possible hospitals where I could apply in case I pass. Since I live in Quezon City, specifically in the Diliman Area, some hospitals that crossed my mind are:

1. Philippine Heart Center

2. Lung Center of the Philippines

3. Kidney Institute

4. Philippine Children's Medical Center

4. Capitol Medical Center

6. UST Hospital

To those knowledgable, what are the differences among these hospitals in terms of salary, contracts, requirements to be hired (trainings, etc), average time it takes before they actually train or hire a nurse, working experience that I may gain, working conditions, etc?

Can anyone suggest any other hospital? I'm really clueless about this, but your replies will be greatly appreciated.

TOR

my mind is as troubled as yours coz i also don't know how long it takes for these hospitals to process applications..=c

I only know Philippine Heart Center w/ 2 year contract.

Hey you guys! I'm also waiting for the NLE result. How come Makati Medical Center is not included? Please try to do some research. You might like it there!

i don't think these hospitals really hire nurses right away. the trend right now is that hospitals require training first. and when i say training, the nurse has to pay a certain amount in order for her or him to be enrolled.. =(

If your talking about CETN, it's long gone. I think their former program is that you pag around 8000 for training. BEcause some nurses just used MMC's name then AWOL! That was abolish 1-2 yrs ago. Right now, I can't see anyone wearing a CETN uniform anywhere even last year when we were having our duties in different areas there. Just try to call them so that you'll know. And if your worrying about the contract, I think it's minimum of 2 yrs. If you still wish to continue, then you have to sign a contract for another year. That's what happened to my sister.

Hi

I was initially trained in Phil. Heart Center and stayed there for 4 years. I can say (without being bias...) that the amount of training I got was fantastic. There is a specific ladder like training that is specially designed for newly hired nurse in order to gain necessary training and skills for your professional growth. However, needless to say, I think it depends on the person whether he/she is very much willing to be trained (attitude is a major component...).

My reply may be too late as you may probably start working in other hospital...so i guess i just wish you all the best!
