I have the same issue its for a class so far i think she has Glomerulonephis or she is healthy the patient is 34 years old, her blood pressure is normal 116/82 her temperture is fine 37.1. In her lab everything is fine except her urinalysis the color is reddish, apperance is cloudy, she has blood in her urine but no protein, RBC/HPF is 8, and EPI/LPH is 49. I know that cloudy urine can mean bacteria, crystals, or blood which she does have. she is cramping - monthy period Im confused either she is comming off a period or she has Glomerulonephris.:monkeydance:

hi, shuronj, and welcome to allnurses! :welcome:
i can look up all these labs and determine the answer for you, but you will learn more by doing it yourself. if you will go to this thread on allnurses
you will find a listing of weblinks which you can use to find this information. use the links for "lab" to find the normal levels of the various lab tests and to tell you what the abnormal high or low levels might indicate. you can also use the "physician sponsored sites", "the merck manuals", or the a.d.a.m. health encyclopedia link to look up information about the various medical diseases that you have to choose from.
this way you will learn something about these diseases and the labs involved. have fun! you will be doing this throughout the rest of your nursing career.

i am confused.
you believe she either has glomerulonephritis or she is healthy? even with the cloudy bloody urine?... i think you can definitely say she is not healthy.
secondly, what does having a menstrual period have anything to do with blood in the urine and glomerulonephritis?
i am not trying to come across as condescending... i am just really confused with your conclusions.
